meowsenger
A real-time messenger you sign in to with your meowerse account.
working: meowsenger — checking…
what it is
- Chats with one person, groups and channels, with replies, edits, deletes, forwarding, reactions and search.
- Groups have invite links and join requests, and a channel can be public, with its own address.
- It shows who is typing, who is online and who has read a message.
- There is no separate password: you sign in with meowerse accounts.
- Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. They travel over HTTPS and are stored on the server, which is what lets history and search work on every device.
how it works
- The web app is Astro with React islands, served by the same Cloudflare Worker as the API, which is an OpenID Connect client of meowerse accounts.
- Each chat is a Durable Object: a new message is written to its SQLite storage and broadcast to everyone connected over WebSockets.
- Chats and message history are also synced to D1, off the send path.
